for use with a USBDrive?
Supported operating systems include Windows
98SE (drivers provided), ME, 2000, XP (Pro and Home edition), Mac
OS 9.2 and above, and also Linux 2.4.17 and above.
Do I need to install the drivers?
Drivers are required to be installed if
using Windows 98SE. OnlyDisk uses the default driver of the operating
system and requires no driver installation on Windows ME/2000/XP,
Mac OS X and Linux 2.4.x.
What are steps to install drivers for Windows
98SE?
Steps to install the drivers for Windows
98SE for OnlyDisk USBDrives.
1) Insert the CD into the CDRom.
2) Connect OnlyDisk into the USB Port directly or through the USB
Cable.
3) Connecting the OnlyDisk USBDrive will open the Add New Hardware
wizard.
4) Click "Next" in "Add New Hardware" wizard to continue.
5) Select "Search for the best drivers for your device(Recommended)"
and click "Next".
6) Select item "CD-Rom" drive. Click Next to continue.
7) The system will automatically detect the driver. Please simply
select "Next" in the following steps to complete the installatioin.
How long does the battery last?
Once fully charged the battery will last
approximately 10 hours. Battery life may vary depending on the environment
and use of the product.
The LCD is dim, how can this be corrected?
The LCD display can be controlled via the
contrast mode.
Is the MelodiStik water resistant?
No, the MelodiStik is susceptible to water
damage and excesive humidity.
What type of files can be stored on a USBDrive?
The USBDrive behaves like any other hard
drive, thus supports storage of all types files provided the operating
system is compatible.
Can the USBDrive be used directly with a digital
camera or a Windows CE device?
The USBDriveSD is a able to read any SD
card used with most digital cameras today, thus allowing it to perform
as a SD card reader in addition to its file storage capability. Digital
cameras however do not have an operating system allowing them to access
the standard USBDrive directly.
Does a USBDrive contain any moving parts inside?
No, all USBDrives are solid-state memory devices which makes them
very versatile and compact.
What is major difference(s) between a standard
USBDrive and the USBDrive Pro?
In addition to all the storage features
of a standard USBDrive, the USBDrive Pro includes USB-Lock, USB-SecureZip,
USB-Mail, and USB-Backup software.
Can I play and listen to my music files directly
from a USBDrive?
Yes this feature is available on the MelodiStik,
which is a USBDrive with a built-in MP3 player and a voice recorder.
Are there any precautions I should take in using
the USBDrive?
Yes. Treat the USBDrive as you would any
electronic device (cell phone, laptop, etc.). Keep the USBDrive out
of humidity, heavy physical shock, heavy electronic shock etc.
What is the number of erase/write cycles of
the USBDrive?
1,000,000 (one million) cycles.

Yes, the USBDrive functions normally with
USB hubs.
Can I use my USBDrive with Win CE or Palm OS?
Currently, the USBDrive can only work on
a computer that has USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 support.
Can I use my USBDrive with Windows NT 4.0?
Windows NT 4.0 is not supported by the
USBDrive. |
